Course Description
A study of the four Gospels, including a survey of the historical background and geography of the New Testament.
Course Objectives
The student who completes this course should:
- Explain several differences between the four Gospels.
- Explain the dating of each of the four Gospels, as well as authorship and suggested places of origin.
- Distinguish between the Gospel versus the Gospels.
- Explain why theological issues such as the incarnation of Christ, the giving of the Holy Spirit, the Lord's Supper, and the New Covenant are so important to the study of the New Testament.
- Identify important dates, places, geographical regions, religious groups, and rulers relevant to gospel studies.
- Explain how the New Testament writers viewed and used the Old Testament Scriptures.
