Welcome to Old Testament Survey II at Boyce College.

I hope that you are excited about learning the Old Testament Scriptures together this term.  As we think about the portion of the Old Testament we will be covering, it is important to remember that much of what we will cover (Wisdom and Prophetic Literature) has its grounding in the covenant relationship God made with his people.  In other words, Wisdom Literature is basically how to practically live out the covenant with God, and the Prophetic Literature entails several examples of God's prophets calling Israel back to covenant faithfulness.  I say that only to encourage you to view the Wisdom and Prophetic Literature in light of the whole Old Testament.  We are not breaking these terms up because of the nice and neat breaks in the Old Testament already.  We break these two terms simply due to logistics.  Therefore, as we study the Old Testament this term, remember that everything you read and study is grounded in God's covenant relationship with his people.

As we begin the course, please take time to click through the various links and become familiar with the course layout.  Be sure to read the syllabus so that you know what is expected of you.  Likewise, read the course schedule so that you'll know when it is expected of you.  This class will take a decent amount of diligence on your part to get through all of the videos and quizzes, and I fully expect that you will set aside due time to complete the assignments with integrity.  Please email me or the OTA if you have any questions as you begin.
