Lectures, Class Notes, and Reading

Watching the lectures is equivalent to class attendance.

  • Students are required to watch every lecture in its entirety on Canvas.
  • Students may not continue to the assignments until the videos have been watched in full.
  • Students will be required to take notes during the lectures. The class notes are primarily for your benefit as an active learner, and therefore it is difficult to set a common standard for how many pages of notes a student should have. However, the lecture notes should demonstrate an active involvement with the video lecture material. Class notes will be turned at the end of Weeks 4 and 8 as accountability for having watched the lecture videos.

Students will be assigned portions of Scripture to read in addition to the Arnold & Beyer textbook.

  • Like the lecture videos, the reading is part of the student’s active learning and is required.
  • Students will be accountable to the reading by submitting a reading report in the form of a “quiz” to answer True/False as to whether the reading has been completed in full. Students should be able to answer this question with integrity: “I have completed 100% of the required reading (Scripture and Textbook) thoughtfully and carefully.” The reading report will be submitted in Weeks 4 and 8.
